An ode to the New Haven creative music scene. Recorded right around the corner from Modern Apizza, Never Ending Books, The State House and a short jaunt from Firehouse 12, Cafe Nine, Sally's and Pepe's. For the past decade and beyond, New Haven has been vitally important for many of us to cut our teeth as improvisers as well as being fertile ground to try out new concepts, frameworks and compositions. Never judgmental, always open, a true bastion for the necessary confluence of creative energies to craft uniquely personal music.

Many thanks to the folks who've cultivated the scene over many years, especially those who do the dirty work of organizing concerts, series and events that bear creative fruit for everyone.

GoBruCcio has performed as a free improvisation trio for many years in the New Haven area. Bob, Pete and Peter have all been part of the scene, playing improvised music as well as several other styles both as individuals and with other bands all around Connecticut and beyond. Bob runs the New Haven Improvisers Collective, curates and organizes lots of gigs in the area and is just an all-around great guy. GoBruCcio began a series of concerts in 2022 at the Best Video performance space in Hamden, CT, where the trio plays a short set followed by a longer set with a featured guest. I am extremely grateful that Bob asked me to be a guest for one of these concerts. I suggested we get together another session to record - everyone agreed - here's the music we arrived at.
